He beat Englishman Kyle Langford settled for silver. In absence of Rudisha the 21 year old gave kenya gold after a one week long wait as Langford came second timing 1:45.16 before Jonathan Kitilit finished sixth.
Amos, seeking to be the first man to win back-to-back title was floored to last position in 1:48.45 as home grown Luke Mathews came third timing 1:45.60.
