Kenya Prison, GSU maintain unbeaten run at KVF national play-offs

Kenya Prison and General Service Unit (GSU) have recorded 100% wins in women and men’s Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) national play-offs in the second day at Moi Sports Centre Kasarani Gymnasium.

The Prison Wardress started on high has not dropped any set in the two matches played so far ahead of their final match against reigning champions Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) tomorrow.

After defeating Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in straight sets on Saturday, they went ahead to defeat debutants Bungoma County by similar margin of 25-11, 25-10 and 25-19 to increase their chances of winning the title again.

In the second match, KCB after losing the opener to Prison Kenya worked hard to defeat KPC in a five thrilling setter of 29-27, 19-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-12. KPC had on Saturday strolled to comfortable wins on Saturday against Bungoma County 3-0.

In the men’s category, KVF defending champions GSU won their second match against Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) in 3-1 (24-26, 25-20, 25-11 and 25-13) to add on their first win against Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in 3-1 (18-25, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-22).

After losing the first match to KDF 3-1 (22-25, 25-27, 25-18, 25-21 and 12-15), Prison Kenya worked tirelessly to beat KPA 3-1 (25-14, 30-28, 15-25 and 25-20).
