Kenya Simbas, the national rugby men’s 15s played to a draw against SWD Eagles during their first training in South Africa yesterday at the Mossel Bay.
The Jerome Paarwater side managed to come from behind to draw 17-17 at the final whistle after the two sides had drawn 12-12 at halftime.
Kenya went ahead through Samuel Ovwamu with Brian Wahinya converting for 7-5but the hosts managed another converted try for 12-7 and Simbas equalized with unconverted try for 12-all into break.
On return, Simbas’ captain Griffin Musila dived over for a try then SWD Eagles unconverted made it 17-12 then Ibrahim Ayoo unconverted try settled for 17-17.
Kenya’s next match will be against South Africa U20 side on Monday, June 9, in Stellenbosch and a return leg on June 14 at the same venue.
