The reigning World Half marathon champion Sebastien Sawe Kimaru and world 10,000m bronze medalist Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi were the winners of today’s Copenhagen half marathon.
Sawe managed to hold on to beat the world half marathon record holder Jacob Kiplimo to win the race in 58:05 with Kiplimo coming second at 58:09 with Kenyan Isaiah Lasoi completing the podium at 58:10.
Fresh from finishing 4th at the Paris Olympic Games, Chelimo led a podium sweep for Kenyans when she won the title in 65:11 ahead of compaytriot Judy Kemboi who managed 1:05:43 for second place with world half marathon bronze medalist Catherine Reline Amanangole completing the podium at 66:09.
