Round two on Friday was not good for Kenyan players who kissed bye the tournament after failing to make the cut. The Kenyan team of Mercy Nyanchama played 7 over par 79 with a total of 14 over par 158, Kitale club’s Naomi Wafula ended her campaign on a cumulative total of 20 over par 164, while Nandi Bear’s Faith Chemtai and Kenya’s sole professional Bhavi Shah also exited the tournament with disappointing +35 and +34 scores.
But it was a gread show for Strom who carded a round of 73 today to take her total for the tourney to 3-under par 141 after 36 holes. She now holds a three-shot lead going into moving day three over Spaniard Nuria Iturrioz, who carded a round of 70 totaker her total for the tournament to level-par 144.
On the first nine, Linnea carded 37 – two worse than in the opening round – courtesy of birdies at the second and seventh holes and having dropped a shot at the fourth and two at the eighth. She had a better back nine – carding 36 courtesy of a birdie at the 11th and dropping a shot at the 14th.
