Rising Stars, the Kenya’s under 20 football men’s team will be facing off with Nigeria, Morocco and Tunisia at the 2025 CAF under 20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) that will be staged in Egypt.
The Salim Babu coached side will be making their debut at the championships with hopes of making it to the FIFA World under. All the semifinalists will book tickets to the 2025 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, set to take place in Chile from September 27th to October 19th 2025.
Kenya remains the underdogs in the pool as they face three time champions Nigeria, former champions 1997 Morocco and Tunisia when the cham[ionships kicks off on April 26th to may 18th in Cairo, Egypt.
Kenya finished second during the CECAFA under 20 championships behind champions Tanzania, after losing 2-1 last October.
The other CECAFA side Tanzania leads pool A that has hosts Egypt, Zambia, South Africa, and Sierra Leone while C has defending champions Senegal, Central African Republic (CAR) and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Ghana.
According to the draw released today, the top two teams and third place will advance to the quarter-finals, the semifinals.
