Keter and Etyang pair set for world under 20 final

Kamar Etiang and Vincent Keter have qualified to comepete at the finals of world under 20 championships at the Kasarani stadium.

After missing out at the Olympic Games when he failed to meet anti-doping rules, Kamar was relieved when he was included in the under 20 team in 1,500m.

Keter won the first heat timing 3:42.35 ahead of Ethiopian Melkeneh Azize (3:44.81) and Abderezak Suleman (3:47.81).

Keter said he is good for the finals after the win, after knowing his opponents strength.

“It is high time that we win a medal and that will come from me,” said Keter former student at Chesoen in Bomet County

Etyang won the second heat in 3:44.75 ahead of Ethiopian Wegene Addisu.

Etyang announced that he is back and rolling ready to win medals for the country after missing the Olympic Games.

“Am back and the journey will not end at the under 20 but world championships is my next big event,” said Etyang.
