Khakasa and Isoe win gold for Kenya at Eastern Africa Regional athletics Championships in Zanzibar

Clare Cheruto won the 3,000m bronze for Kenya when the Eastern Africa Regionals athletics Championships kicked off at the Amani Stadium, Zanzibar.

Cheruto won the title in U18 women’s 3000m, bagging the bronze medal with an impressive time of 9:22.08.

James Gechuki clocked 1:53.78 to secure bronze in the U18 boys’ 800m before Nashon Kiech clinching silver in the U18 men’s 800m.

It is another medal for Kenya as Antony Kibiwot clocks Time 14.01.14 in the 5000m under-20 boys to win bronze.

Joyce Khakasa won gold in the 100m in the Under 18 women.

Khakasa from Mutsumu Secondary School clocked an impressive time.

In the under 20, Dorcas Isoe won 1,500m gold when she clocked an impressive 4:15.07.

It was another gold in the U 18 Men’s 4×400m Relays courtesy of Kapaiko David, Wasike Daniel, Antony Lemoshira, and Kiech Nashon delivered an astonishing performance in 3:23.19.
