Khayeka, Gathumbi and Alunga to battle for Manchester Salver title in Eldoret

Eldoret caddie Robert Khayeka Kisia has tied on top of the leader-board with Joseph Gathumbi, and Michael Alunga in opening day of Manchester Salver, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series on par 71 Eldoret golf club.

Birdie lover Khayeka from Eldoret, Gathumbi of Kenya Railways and Ugandan Alunga fired one under par 70 to claim top position ahead of tomorrow’s final round in the two day 36-hole tournament.

Using his home course, Khayeka said that he expects to play better than today to win the title but has been slipping off at the last minute.

he fired six pars in 1, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 with two birdies in 2 and 5 and a dropping one in 5th in the opening nine with a total of one under gross 34.

Second nine posed a challenge for Kasi who managed level par when his tee shot flew on the right into the rough, even after hitting the green, he missed a simple putt to score a bogey.
