Kiambu’s Karanga retains Windsor Classic title at Windsor club

Kiambu golfer Michael Karanga fired four under par 68 in third round to retain the Windsor Classic title that came to an end today at the par 72 Windsor golf club.

This was his back-to-back victories in the ongoing Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series ahead of Magical Kenya Open next year.

The reigning Kenya One John Lejirma from Kenya Railways was 4th on +8 and round two leader Josphat Rono coming 5th overall with +9 225.

He has now set his focus to retain the Muthaiga Open title.

“My focus now is to conquer Muthaiga Open. I came here with a purpose that has been achieved,” said karanga.

On his winning, he said that he had to keep on pushing to catch up with the rest after missing top position in round two on Saturday.

“I had to play my best, being keen on putting so that I close the gap with day two leaders and I managed to win with four under,” said Karanga.
