Kibera Soccer Women silence Vihiga Queens for FKF Women Cup title

Kibera Soccer Women FC were crowned the champions of the FKF Women’s Cup following their victory against four time Kenya Women Premier league side Vihiga Queens during a final match played at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.

Stellah Odhiambo came from the bench to score a vital goal to seal the victory in the 1-0 win in a final, handing the Nairobi based their first ever trophy in the country.

Odhiambo connected Yvonne Idagiza’s cross in the 90th minute for the goal.

Kibera head coach David Busego praised his team’s resilience as Vihiga Queens’ head coach Boniface Nyamunyamu admitted that a lapse in concentration cost them the match.

On the individual prizes, Kibera’s Faith Mboya was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), while Diana Cheron of Vihiga Queens claimed the Golden Boot. Vihiga’s goalkeeper Vivian Khayati walked away with the Best Goalkeeper award.

Kibera Soccer took home KSh.650,000, while Vihiga Queens received KSh.100,000
