Allan Kibet and Sheila Chepkosgey will lead North Rift region at the Athletics Kenya pre-trials for the World Under-20 Championships to be held on November 20 and 21 at the Nyayo Stadium.
Today, Kibet and Chepkosgey won in their respective races and will lead other 26 runners selected to represent the top creme region.
The Ndura Sports Complex showdown in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Kibet won the 10,000m men’s title while Chepkosgey beat her opponents to claim 800m women’s title.
The athletes’ federation will be using the trials to select the team for the postponed world under 20 set for August 17to 22 in 2021.
