Kenya’s only representative Njoroge Kibugu failed to sparkle as Chinese international Ashun Wu won the 2022 Magical Kenya Open Golf championships at the par 71 Muthaiga golf club. ‘
The amateur Kenyan golfer Kibugu was the only Kenyan player after top professional players failed to make the cut on the third.
The Chinese, making his debut at the championships, fired six under par 65 for a total for a total of 16 under par 268 for a win to lead Canadian Aaron Cockerill with four shots and South Arica’s Lawrence Thriston, who shot 67 and 66 in the final round to tie for the second place.
Germany’s Hurly Long, who also shot 66 in the closing round for 12 under par 272.
England’s David Horsey was just a shot behind them on 11 under par 273.
