Kimeli, Can to chase Tuskys 10km Great Run title

Africa cross country junior champion Nicholas Kimeli and Kenyan born turn Turkish International Yasmin Can will be chasing the inaugural Tuskys 10km Great Run this Sunday (24th November) in Eldoret.

Kimeli, who finished second at The University of Eldoret (UoE) cross country three weeks ago, said he will be trying his best to claim the title.

Can, who switched her allegiance to Turkey said she has been training for the race and Chebara was just but part of her preparations because of the good prizes to be won.

“Once I heard that they are paying well, I saw no reason to compete out of this nation this month instead I had to train for Tuskys race,” said the track mistress who competes in 5,000m and 10,000m.

Kimeli will be facing off with Simiyu for the first time after they competed together at the national trials.

Simiyu won 5,000m title while Kimeli was 3rd but the former failed to travel with Kenya team for worlds for failure to undergo ant doping tests.
