Three months after winning Eldoret City Marathon Victor Kipchirchir Rotich and Jackline Chelal were crowned the champions of the inaugural Machakos 15km Great Run held today at the Machakos People’s Park.
Coming from Uasin Gishu County, Kipchirchir won the title in 41.51.43 ahead of cross country runner Emmanuel Bor from Nandi was second in 42.04.86 and Raynald Kipkorir 42.27.45 completing the podium.
After finishing third in the Eldoret City marathon, Chelal won the women’s title in 48.48.65 beating Sharon Kemboi to second after timing 49.23.47 and Pauline Eskon sealing the podium after clocking 49.29.10.
Leaky Kamina from Makueni won 10km event with Pauline Kavata taking the corresponding women’s race
