Olympic marathon champion won the NN Mission Marathon ran today at Enschede’s Twente Airport in the Netherlands.
It was a great come back for the world marathon record holder who defeated his training mate Jonathan Korir to win the race in 2:04.30 to erase the last year’s London Marathon where he finished eighth.
In a racer that brought together 50 athletes, Korir was second in 2:06.04 while Goitom Kifle completed the podium in 2:08.0 as Kipchoge was using the race as part of his preparation to defend his Olympics marathon title in July and August in Tokyo, Japan.
