Upstart Alfred Kipkemoi will be launching his Mountain running at this Saturday’s Athletics Kenya Mount Kenya Mountain Running Championships in Meru County.
The young runner from Kapkitony in Elgeyo Marakwet County said that that he will be running the second leg of Mountain race with an aim of hitting the podium.
“I want to compete in Meru Mountain Running, to perform well with good results to attract managers who can take care of my career,” said Kipkemoi.
The 20-year old athlete, who started training last year had competed in two races this year where he finished in position 15 at the Discovery Kenya cross country championships held on 31st January 2022 as was in position 20 at the Iten 10km Gender Based Violence (GBV) campaign in December.
“I have only run two races and heading into the Meru race, I want to try another challenge in my life and career. This being a good year, I want to try my best to be like the top athletes in this country. The journey to succeed has begun and this will be great for me,” he added.
