Kipkirui and Chesang shine at Iten 15km race

Bernard Kipkirui and reigning Commonwealth Games 10,000m champion Stella Chesang were crowned the winners of today’s Iten 15km Road race in Elgeyo Marakwet County.

Running on his training base, Kipkurui timed 44:29.0 for the men’s title followed by Weldon Lang’at (44:40.0) while Charles Tosei (44:50.1) in top three positions.

Ugandan Chesang shone over locals when she cut the tape in 51:07.0 ahead of Rachael Chebet (51:10.9) and world under 20 runner Zena Cheptoo was third in 51:32.9.
