Nicholas Kipkirui came off the bench to score the winning goal for Gor Mahia as they progressed into the second round of CAF Champions league played this evening at Nyayo National Stadium.
Kipkirui, who replaced captain Kenedy Muguna headed home the winner in the 95th minute against APR of Randa in a must-win Caf Champions League preliminary round return leg.
KOgalo, who lost 2-1 in the first leg in Kigali last weekend, need at least a 1-0 win to proceed on away goals rule as they won 3-1.
APR have unleashed former Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge who missed to convert a penalty.
Samuel Onyago scored for the host in the 18th minute but APR’s substitute Keddy Nsanzimfura leveled in the 83rd minute.
As APR was heading to progress substitute Syndey Otieno restores Gor’s lead in 90+2 minutes and as they were headed for the penalties, Kipkirui leaps high to head home a corner taken by Clifton Miheso in the 90+4 minutes to seal the victory.
