Kenyans Hillary Kipkoech and Boniface Kibiwott were the winners of today’s ASICS Be(at) Your Personal Best event at Le Bois aux Daims, France.
Kipkoech won the men’s 10km while Kibiwott dominated the 5km race winning with their personal bests.
In a less competitive 10km, Kipkoech won the title in 27:35, beating Spain’s Jorge Blanco with almost a minute as he crossed the finish line in 28:27 with Norweigian Sondre Nordstad Moen completing the podium by clocking 28:35.
Belgium international Koen Naert was 4th overall timing 28:35 and another Kenyan Enock Onchari (28:57) was the 5th overall.
In 5km men, Kenya’s Kibiwott edged out homeboy Felix Bour with ten seconds for the title. The Nandi based Kibiwott won in 13:24 while Bour returned second in 13:34 as his counterpart Etienne Daguinos completed the podium in 13:36 with Germany international Ilyas Yonis Osman (13:42) and Kenyan Matthew Kibarus (13:46) were in 4th and 5th positions respectively.
In women races, Sarah Lahti and Mekdes Woldu dominated the 5km and 10km races respectively.
The Swedish Lahti won the 5km title in 15:22, beating homegirl Leila Hadji 15:51 and Kristina Hendel (CRO) 15:52.
In 10km Woldu of Eritrea won in 31:47 ahead of Julia Mayer (AUS) 33:35 and Juliette Thomas (BEL) 34:18.
