World under 20 5,000m champion Benson Kiplagat and South Rift’s Faith Cherotich won the under 20 titles at the concluded Athletics Kenya National cross country championships held on Saturday at the Lobo Village in Eldoret.
Representing South Rift, Kiplagat won the 8km junior men in 24:08.0 followed closely by Central’s Samuel Kibathe (24:16.9) and South Rift’s Reynond Kipkorir (24:21.4).
It was another South Rift’s winner in 6km junior women when Cherotich won the title in 20:28.4 beating world under 20 3,000m steeplechase champion Purity Chepkirui to second in 20:34.8 and Grace Loibach ended the podium in 21:07.0.
