The reigning Paris half marathon champion will be battling for her title defence against compatriot Kenyan Angela Tanui (2:26.31) and Maurine Chepkemoi (2:27.12) plus Ethiopian Rahma Tusa (2:23.46) among others.

Kiprop, the back to back winner was optimistic of setting a record of the race as she targets three time title on the course after winning in 2017 and defending her title in 2018.

“My target is to set another milestone in my career at the same time setting the record on the course that I have recognized for some time,” said the reigning Paris Half marathon.

The athlete who trains an individual in Iten after training with legendary Colm O’Connel decided to go it alone to ensure she gets it perfect.

“I train a lone but I got experience from Colm who gave me a good foundation that am using up to date. My target is to get a hat-trick to make myself proud,” said Kiprop.

Kiprop set her personal best following her 6th placed at Frankfurt marathon, where she was the best Kenyan runner on the course after Ethiopians took control of the event.

“I will end my training programme on Saturday (30th March) and plan for Tuesday travel. I have done what is needed ready to face the world. I know I will face challenges as double winner and each athlete will be wishing to defeat me,” said the two time Valencia Half marathon silver medalist.
