Kenyans Ronald Kiprotich Kirui and Nelly Jepchumba won the Madrid Half marathon titles with course record held today in Madrid, Spain.
Kirui led a podium sweep for Kenyan contingent where they led in positions 1-8 in an all Kenyan affair.
He cut the tape in 59:39, erasing the former record held by compatriot Kiprono Kipkemoi in 60:47 in 2019.

As Kirui won the title, another Kenyan Ezra Kipketer Tanui was second in 59:44 and Solomon Kirwa yego completing the podium timing 59:44.
In women, it was the similar script when jepchumba won the title in 67:47 breaking the record that was held by Kenyan Cynthia Jerotich in 69:40
Jpechumba won the battle against Ethiopians Alemitu Tariku Olana and Ayinadis
Winfridah Moraa Moseti and Sandrafelis Chebet Tuei both from Kenya came home in fourth and fifth place in 1:08.22 and 1:09.01 respectively.
