Kiprotich, Kimeu, Chelangat, Morara to battle for medals in 4x400m

The opening day of world athletics under 20 championships will be great for Kenyan sprinters who will be seeking to win the first medal for Kenya.

The quartet of Elkana Kiprotich, Kennedy Kimeu, Joshua Wanyonyi, Mercy Chebet, Sylvia Chelangat and Loice Morara will be the first Kenyans in the medal bracket at the Kasarani stadium.

Also in the mix will be women’s and men’s 100m race where Kenya’s Mercy Chebet and Sylvester Wanyonyi will line up in the heats

Sylvester Simiyu will represent Kenya in the men’s 100m race, hoping to leave a mark in the championships

At the same time, Dominic Kiprotich will take to the field in the qualification round of the shot put competition.

In the women’s 400m race, Sylvia Chelangat will be Kenya’s sole representative while Kimeu and Kiprotich in men’s 400m heats.
