Kiptoo win Athens marathon with course record

Edwin Kiptoo Kiprop won the won the 40th Athens Marathon with a course held today in Athens, Greece.

The Kenyan runner set the record in 2:10. 34 ahead of compatriots Rhonzai Lokitam Kilimo who was second in 2:12:36 as Rwandese Felicien Muhitira was third tied with Lokitam.

Kiprop broke the course record that was held by another Kenyan Felix Kandie’s record of 2:10:37 way back in 2014.

In women, Kenya’s Caroline Jepchirchir finished third in the race with Moroccan Soukaina Atanane won the title in 2:31:52 followed by Greece’s Gloria Privileggio.
