Double Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon crushed another world record, the one mile set today at the Monaco Diamond league in France.
After setting both the 1,500m and 5,000m world records last month, the double world 1,500m champion, she broke the world record that was held by Sifan Hassan set in 2019.
Kipyegon won the one mile race in 4:07.64 to lower Sifan’s time of 4:12.33 to record her third world record within two months.
The two time world 1,500m champion set the 1500m world record at the Florence Diamond League on June 2 before smashing another one in the 5000m in Paris a week later.
She was followed by Irish Ciara Mageean (4:14.58) and Freweyni Hailu at 4:14.79
