Namwela, Koyonzo, Mwitoti, Vihiga and Lugulu to battle for rugby 7s and volleyball titles

Volleyball Champions Namwela Boys will have an uphill task as they face multiple national champions Malava Boys in volleyball finals as Western Secondary school games comes to a close on Saturday in Kakamega County.

The Isaac Muresia coached side edged out their county rivals Teremi Boys in straight sets of 25-10, 25-14 and 25-17 while Malava recorded similar scores of 25-21, 25-11 and 25-16.

In girls’ volleyball, multiple champions Lugulu, who beat Miruri in straight sets of 25-6, 25-8 and 25-13 will take on Mwitoti who were 3-0 winners over Butere in 25-22, 25-16 and 25-16.

In rugby at Bull ring, champions Koyonzo Boys will face off with Vihiga High school after defeating Kimobo of Bungoma 27-0.

Vihiga on the other hand were 24-0 winners against  Bungoma High school during semifinals played at the same venue.

The principal said that the boys have gone through intensive training to reach this level and an hour of training daily.

Emmanuel Pilla bagged a hattrick to aid his side make it to the finals. Roy Maruti converted Pilla’s opening try for 7-0 then Maruti failed to add extras for his own try for 12-0 lead into break.
