Kenyans Geoffrey Koech and Viola Chepngeno were the winners’ yesterday’s Boston Half Marathon titles.
Chepngeno won the women’s title with a course record of 70:40 ahead of Ethiopia’s Bosena Mulatie 70:43 leading compatriot Hiwot Gebrekidan completing the podium in 71:09.
Other Kenyan women in the race were Vibian Chepkirui (71:20) and Cynthia Limo (72:11) who placed fourth and sixth in respective times.
Koech won the men’s race after timing 62”02 followed by Ethiopian Tsegay Kidanu (62:10), Moroccan Zouhair Talbi (62:15).
Other Kenyans in the race were Shadrack Kimining (fifth- 1:02:39), James Ngandu (eighth- 1:03:30) and Dennis Kipkosgei (17th- 1:06:04).
