Shadrack Koech and Joyciline Cherotich were the best Kenyans at the Trento half marathon held on Sunday October 1st in Italy
The Kenyan Koech finished second at 61:12 behind Ethiopian champion Muktar Edris in 60:30 with Moroccan Soufiyan Bouqantar completing the podium at 62:55.
Another Kenyan Dickson Nyakundi came 4th overall in 63:04 and Alex Korio, who was the favourite at the starting lineup of 58:51 finished in 8th position when he clocked 67:53.
In the women’s race, Ethiopian Worknesh Degefa Debele, who was the race favourite with 66:14 maintained her position winning the title in 67:48 leading her country mate Etenesh Diro, who was making a debut to second at 69:50.
Kenyans Joyciline Cherotich, Christine Ndanu Mutua and Doreen Cherop were in third, 4th and 5th positions timing 71:58, 74:26 and 77:09 respectively.
