Korir and Rotich: it’s gold and silver for Kenya at Tokyo Games

Emmanuel Korir led a world 800m bronze medalist fergusin Rotich to claim 1-2 positions at the Tokyo Olympic Games today.

Korir won gold in the two lap race when he crossed the finish line 1:45.06 as Rotich settled for silver at the Olympic Stadium to ensure Kenya get to keep the gold to ensure good succession in the category.

The Nandi based runner ensured the continuity where world record holder David Rudisha won in the 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) 2012 (London) Wilfred Bungei Beijing (2008).
