Pamela Kosgei has replaced Diana Chepkemoi in the Kenya team ahead of World Under 20 Athletics championships that starts next week in Cali, Colombia.
With the championships set to start on August 1st to 6th, Kosgei, the young sister of world marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei will be competing alongside the reigning world under 20 3,000m steeplechase bronze medalist Faith Cherotich.
Athletics Kenya had picked national champion Cherotich, with Chepkemoi, who had finished second failed to have her travelling documents on time.
Kenya will be represented by 28 athletes; 14 men and 14 women and will be leaving on Thursday to Colombia.
However, the water and barriers champion Jackline Chepkoech will not be defending her title and is set to compete at the Commonwealth Games starting this Thursday in Birmingham, England.
Chepkoech also ran for Kenya at the concluded World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
