Okutoyi in losing start at Monastir tennis tournament

Kenya junior tennis champion Angella Okutoyi lost in round one of the ongoing W15 Monastir tournament in Monastair, Tunisia.

Fresh from clinching the Wimbledon doubles, Okutoyi the former Kenya Open and Africa Under-18 champion lost to Marie Villet from France in 32 round clash in 6-1, 6-0.

The 18 year old faced a stiff competition from the 25-year-old from strong serves and had a 100 percent break points won.

The Junior Wimbledon Doubles champion, who is on Grand Slam Player Development Programme (GSPDP), retired at the hands of Tanuchaporn Yongmod from Thailand in her first match in Monastir in December last year due to a shoulder injury.

She has two more W15 Monastir events to bounce back before heading to Canada for J1 Repentigny from August 28 to September 3 and then the US Open Junior Championships scheduled for September 4-10 in New York
