Kotut and Yalemzerf claim Haspa Hamburg marathon titles

France and Fiorence marathon champion Cyprian Kotut and Ethiopian Yalemzerf were the winners of today’s Haspa Hamburg marathon held today in Germany.

Kotut defeated Ugandan Stephen Kissa by a second to win in 2:04.47 and 2:04.48 before Ethiopian Workine tadese completed the podium in 2:05.07.

In women, former Olympic Games marathon silver medalist Priscah Jeptoo was the best Kenyan when she returned 6^th in 2:28.48 in a race won by Ethiopian Yehualaw with a course record of 2:17.23 leading compatriots Wereka Fikrte and Bone Cheluke for a podium sweep.
