Koyonzo Boys defeated their arch-rivals Butula to win the rubgy7s title at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) in Nakuru County.
Butula who lost to Koyonzo at the finals during the Western Region championships 26-05 at St Peter’s Mumias, failed to set up the revenge when they met finals at the national level.
Koyonzo under the coachship of Oscar Okaron were 33-0 winners against Butula in an all-Western region derby in their debut at the nationals and the two will now represent the country at the East Africa Secondary School Games in Arusha, Tanzania later this week.
To reach finals, the Shimenga Livondo coached side Butula were 31-05 winners against then champions Upper Hill School from Nairobi while the champions eliminated Nduru boys.
