Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) volleyball retained their bronze medal at the 2019 Women’s African club Championship that came to an end today in Cairo, Egypt.
KPC floored Algeria’s GSP in straight sets of 25-22, 25-17, 25-18 in the third place match played at Ahly Hall.
This was the fourth Bronze medal for the former Kenyan champions to be added to their shining history, which include 6 crowns, and 6 silver medals.
The Kenyan team dominated the match throughout its events and didn’t allow any comeback from the Algerians. The Newly shining Kenyan attacker Kiprono Sharon led the winners and match scorers with 17 points, While Zohra Bensalem led the Algerians with 13 points.
Pipeline was better in all the skills making 7-3 advantage in kill blocks, 9-7 in ace services and 42-28 in attacks.
Hosts Al Ahly won their 10th title when they outclassed archrivals Carthage of Tunisia in a four-setter thriller in 21-25, 25-15, 25-11, 25-19 in the final of the competition.
