KRU set dates for Safari Sevens

Kenya Rugby Union has set dates for the 25th edition of Safari Sevens that will be held on 14th to 16th October at the RFUEA Grounds, Nairobi.

Yesterday, KRU Moses Ndale disclosed said that the federation will need Sh 80 million to fully organize the annual championships.

The championships were launched yesterday where champions Kenya Shujaa will be defending the title while Kenya’s second team Kenya Morans and the National Sevens Series champions Menengai Oilers will battle for the title.

Last year, Shujaa defeated Germany 12-5 to lift the Safari Sevens title as Morans claimed bronze after disposing off Red Wailers 12-5 in the play-off for third place.

Kenya Lionesses thrashed Uganda’s Lady Cranes 26-0 to win the women’s contest.
