Kenya Railways golfer John Lejirma fired ten over par 220 to successfully defend the Nyanza Open title at the par 70 Nyanza Golf Club today.
The three day 54 hole tournament popularly called Hippo Pot, Lejirma managed to hold onto the second round one lead to win the title after firing two over par 72 in the last round.
“The win today has improved on my confidence ahead of Kabete Open where I finished second last year. I came here well prepared and I have managed to win, which is not easy for the defending champions,” said Lejirma.
