Kenya’s team captain John Lejirma fired a total of one under par 212 to win Nyali Open, the final leg of Kenya Amateur Golf Championships that came to an end today at the par 71 Nyali golf club in Mombasa.
Coming from Kenya Railways, Lejirma managed to hold onto the Kenya One player Michael Karanga from Kiambu to win the title after securing three over in the opening round on Friday, three under in round two on Saturday and one under par 70 in the third and final round today.
The three day event marked the KAGC culmination at the prestigious Nyali Golf and Country Club in Mombasa that featured 96 elite golfers from Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.
The event is a three days 54 holes stroke play championship.
