Kenya Captain John Lejirma successfully defended the Ronald Marshal and Toby Gibson Match Play title played at the par 72 Njoro Golf club in Nakuru County.
The 2024 Trans Nzoia Open champion defeated Rwandese international Felix Dusabe for the title at the final round in the three day chamionships that teed off on Friday morning.
Lejirma maintained the lead from the qualifying round on Friday before seeding top 32 players to compete in the match play.
To reach the final, the Kenya Railways player, Lejirma defeated Golf Park’s Amos Odongo 2-1 while Dusabe from Kigali Golf club was beat Muthaiga’s John Koina in the 20th hole after level play in the 18-hole play.
At the quarterfinals, it was a repeat of last year final when Lejirma faced off with Kiambu’s Elvis Muigai, where the later was seeking the revenge that failed with the former winning with one hole.
