Lionesses fall to New Zealand at Olympics opener in Tokyo

Kenya Lionesses, the national rugby women’s team started on a losing note against New Zealand at the ongoing Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

In the opening match in the rugby7s, Kenya fell to New Zealand 29-7 in Pool A when the winners enjoyed a 17-0 lead at half time.

The only Kenyan try came from Christabel Lindo with Grace Adhiambo adding the extras.

Kenya will be back on the pitch at 1pm to take on Russia in their second match. Russia narrowly lost 12-14 to Birtain in their first match.
