Mark Makwata grabbed a hat trick as AFC Leopards defeated Zoo Kericho with Ulinzi Stars winning against Posta Rangers at Bukhungu and Machakos stadium respectively in today’s Kenya Premier League (KPL) matches.
At Bukhungu, Makwata scored three as Leopards thrashed Zoo 4-1. Bonface Mukhekhe opened the score first in the 12th minute.
Makwata then scored his first in the 43rd minute into break with a 2-0 lead. On resumption, Zoo’s Collins Neto halved the score, which was a consolation but Makwata scored his second in the 66th before sealing the victory in the 75th minute.
The victory pushed Leopards’ points tally to 25 as they cemented their position among the top 10 teams in the league with 15 encounters while Zoo have 13.
In Machakos, Ulinzi Stars beat Posta Rangers 2-0 with goals from Enosh Ochieng and Oscar Wamalwa in the 33rd minute and 82nd respectably.
