Kenya’s Daniel Mateiko led Kenyans to sweep the podium in today’s Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) half marathon held in United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Mateiko won the 21km distance after clocking 58:45 to lead compatriots John Korir to second after timing 58:50 and Isaia Lasoi who completed an all podium sweep for Kenyans in 58:55.
In women, the Ethiopia Tsigie Gebreselama won the title and 65:14 beating countrymate Ababel Yeshaneh and Tanzania’s Jackline Sakilu coming second and third in 65:44 and 66:05 respectively.
The top Kenyan was former world 5,000m silver medalist Margaret Kipkemboi Chelimo who was in 4th position after crossing the finish line at 66:31.
