In what seemed as a revenge mission, Menengai Oilers defeated champions Kabras Sugar to win the Great Rift Valley 10s rugby at the Nakuru Athletics Club in Nakuru County.
After losing Kenya Cup title to Kabras two weeks ago in Kakamega to Kabras, Oilers defeated four time Kenya Cup champions to reclaim their title won last in 2023.
The hosts were 15-0 winners against the reigning champions on a sweet revenge after going down 27-26 to Kabras at kenya Cup finals
Oilers took a 5-0 lead through Bildad Ogeta’s try in the first half for a 5-0 lead into break.
After return, Steve Arunga touched down for the second try of the match with Erick Ogutu converting for 12-0 lead then Ogutu sealed the victory after shooting through from the penalty for 15-0 final score as sugar millers had no comeback to record their first loss of the season.
