Michael Olunga netted a brace as Kenya’s Harambee Stars defeated Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in the second match of Pool C at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo, Egypt.
The Reyshal striker scored 2 in the 3-2 win against Tanzania.
Saimon Msuva handed Tanzania the lead with just six minutes but Olunga leveled through a perfectly placed bicycle kick into the net but the shaky Harambee Stars defence awarded Mbwana Samatta the second goal as Tanzania led 1-2 into break.
On resumption, Johanna Omollo headed home the second to level as Olunga scored a brace for Sebastien Migne coached win their first ever AFCON match.
Next match will be Harambee Stars against Senegal’s Lions of Teranga while Tanzania plays Algeria, the Desert Foxes who have already qualified into the best 16.
