Mixed results for holders Kenya Pipeline and GSU as KVF National serves off

Holders Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) and General Service Unit (GSU) recorded mixed results today when Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) National Legue play offs served.

Women champions KPC maintained good run with a win against Nairobi Prisons at the makande Hall while men champions GSU lost in their opening fixtures against their arch rivals Prisons Kenya in a match played at the Aga Khan Academy.

KPC edged out Nairobi Prisons in straight sets of 25-17, 25-18, 25-20 just as former champions Kenya Prisons who beat Kenya Army 3-0 (25-6, 25-19, 25-6) while former champions KCB Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) 3-0 (26-24, 25-13, 25-21), Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stunned Post Bank 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 15-12).

In men, former champions, Prisons were 3-0 winners against their nemesis GUS in 25-17, 26-24, 25-23 in the first leg of the quarterfinal.

In other men’s results, hosts Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) utilized home ground to beat Kenya Airports Police Unit (KAPU) 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-16) while debutants Chema were 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-19) winners against Trailblazers as Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) beat Equity Bank 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-18).
