Mombasa held by Muhoroni as Nairobi United maintains NSL lead

Mombasa United were forced to share points with former Kenya Premier League side Muhoroni Youth in today’s National Super league match, the second tier football league in the country at the Serani grounds.

The two teams played to a 1-1 draw after the hosts Mombasa were forced to come from 1-0 down to draw. The visitors took the lead after just 12 minutes into the match when Mark Otieno fired past keeper Kevin Tila for a 1-0 lead for Ibrahim Anjiri coached team.

It was a good start in the second half as Answar Shamuni leveled Hamadi Said side to pick a point at home.

With a point, Mombasa remains 15th on the table with 20 points as Muhoroni lies in position 18 with 13 points.

With first leg coming to an end next weekend, Nzoia Sugar will be hosting Mully Children’s Family (MCF) on Wednesday in their 18th league match of the season in thw 20 team league.

In other weekend results, leaders Nairobi United beat Migori Youth 2-1 to cement their top position with 37 points from 18 matches placed, winning 11, drawing 4 and losing 3.

second placed APS Bomet were 2-0 winners over Luanda Villa as third placed Kibera Black Stars record a 2-0 win over Dimba Patriots.
