Elvis Muigua recorded his 4th victory in the Kenya Amateur Golf Championships (KAGC) series with Winston Cgurchill win at the par 72 Thika Sports Club today.
The Kaimbu golfer fired a total of level par 144 ahead of Nyali golfer Adel Balala and club mate Michale Karanga who tied on one shot less in 145 where the Saturday results were canceled due to heavy downpour at the club.
He said that his secret for winning was due to perfection in hitting pars, fairways and greens that earned him the points and the title.
“I really maintained hitting fairways and greens, earning pars on the course. However, it was not that easy when I hit the roughs especially in hole number 17, which is very long,” he said.
In the opening round on Friday, the champion fired two over par 74 when he rolled in an eagle on 15th hole par 5, a birdie in hole 16th par 4 and a bogey in 13th par 4 with all pars in the remaining holes.
On Sunday, he dropped a shot in one and 17th pars five and four with all pars in the remaining holes for two under par 70 for the title.
