Musingu Boys, Butere girls’, Kimilili boys’ Kamusinga girls’ and Tigoi girls’ retained their titles at the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term One National games that came to a clise yesterday at the Shanzu Teachers College in Mombasa.
In the boys’ hockey, Musingu from Western, edged out their rival St Antony’s boys from Trans Nzoia by a solitary goal to retain their title for the second time in a row.
It was the similar script in the girls when Tigoi also from Western defeated former Champions St Joseph’s Kitale from Rift Valley 3-2 to retain the stick sport.
Laiser Hill managed to reclaim their title after releanquishing last year to Dr Agrrey. The Rift Valley based Laiser managed to revenge, beating then champions Dr Aggrey 71-69 for the title while Butere girls from western defended their title following a 76-53 stunning of former champions Kaya Tiwi from Coast.
With All Saints Embu out of title race when they lost in the semifinals, Vihiga Boys from Western defeated Kisii from Nyanza 14-06 for the rugby 15s boys category.
It was an all western wins in handball when Kimilili boys and Kamusinga girls retained their handball boys and girls titles. In boys’ Kimilili were 35-18 winners over Kamito Boys of West Pokot, Rift valley while Kamusinga beay former champions St Joseph’s girls from kitale, Trans nzoia Rift Valley 24-14.
