Former secretary general of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Nicholas Musonye, former FKF President Sam Nyamweya and Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ocholla have declared their interests to run for the FKF presidency when elections will be called next year.
Musonye said: “I wish to confirm that I’m in the race. All we are asking for is free and fair elections. We want a clear program for the polls.”
The seasoned football administrator who boasts a wealth of experience in sports journalism pulled out of the 2020 FKF presidential race, citing irregularities.
Nyamweya also declared intentions in a statement released yesterday.
He said: “I have been keenly following the happenings in our local football since I stepped down as the FKF President eight years ago and I must admit that the country’s number one game has come from bad to worse.”
Ocholla is bidding to become the next president, outlining his agenda for football in the country if elected.
The FKF polls are scheduled for February 24, 2024.
