Shujaa to open Paris qualifier against Nigeria in Harare

Kenya Sevens will open their Olympic Games qualifiers against Nigerian Minnows at the Africa Sevens-cum-Olympic in Harare, Zimbabwe starting from tomorrow.

For the third time, Kenya will be seeking back to back slots at the Olympic Games set for Paris, France after debuting at the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil and Tokyo Olympic Games in Tokyo Japan.

The Kevin Wambua team was relegated from the core sevens event and will be up against South Africa will be playing in the qualifiers for the first time after missing out on the automatic qualifying slots to the global games during the World Sevens Series last season, where they finished seventh.

The top four finishers in the Series, thus New Zealand, Fiji, Argentina and France, automatically qualified for the Paris Games.

Kenya lies in pool B with minnows Nigeria at 11:06 am on Saturday, then face Namibia at 1:50pm before concluding their preliminary  matches against Zambia at 4:34 pm.
